Algorand wants to help the open source community, as does Dept. There's no secret that NFTs are "totally huge right now" but we wanted to give businesses control over their own assets in their own marketplaces. This is production-grade software. It took a team of 5 absolute rockstars 8 months to get this thing prepped. The team is improving the docs currently and this will help people go through the several deploy steps in a much more friendly way. Everyone has different use cases for NFTs (I've heard so many, some very fascinating). This gives any business a way to have control, ownership and yet still let people use the NFT marketplace with familiar concepts like paying with a credit card instead of using a wallet extension.
  • NFT Support Timeline
    1 project | /r/Algodex | 7 Nov 2021
Hi Everyone! I just stumbled upon AlgoDex (funnily enough, from the Tinyman sub) and I saw on the website that they plan to support NFTs in a future release. I was just wondering whether that might happen soon, because I would love to try my hand at releasing my own NFTs on an Algorand-based NFT marketplace! Even a general timeline like a (couple) months from now or something would be much appreciated! Thanks and look forward to it because of how great the exchange testnet looks! Also, I'm not entirely familiar with whether this link might help but figured that I would drop this here on the off chance that you hadn't taken a look at it yet and that it perhaps might help with setting up parts of the NFT marketplace (I looked at the rest of their work and they make really stunning pages as a company). Thanks!
