Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Show HN: gpudeploy.com β "Airbnb" for GPUs
Great idea and wishing you the best of luck!
Dropping a note that I've found https://akash.network/ ~ https://akash.network/gpus/ to be impressive, as typically with crypto projects it's all scams, however in this instance.. demand exists. https://stats.akash.network/

AutoGPT Goes Decentralized
Run AutoGPT on the Akash Network in just a few clicks...Akash is similar to Vercel and Railway but uses decentralized Kubernetes clusters provisioned by their Cosmos based blockchain.

A open sourced Web3 personal server to save you from big tech
In what way is this different from Jackal Protocol or Akash Network?

Meh, I'm way more into Interoperability, and overall "WEB3" which includes AI I suppose. But I know how much GPU ChatGPT needs to operate, so im betting on AKASH cloud hosting to fuel decentralized AI. Which is interoperable alongside FET thanks to the COSMOS IBC / CosmWasm.

My take is that it's a platform that people may build some really spectacular applications on and some really terrible ones. A well designed layer on top of Cosmos seems like it could work well and there is some developer community there building cool stuff. The only time I used it was to get some money on it and play around with Akash Network about a year ago, and the UX on their main wallet was much smoother than using Ethereum/ Metamask for me.

Cost overview?
I'm considering using Akash network for hosting, but https://akash.network/ doesn't give me any hint whatsoever about what kind of cost to expect. I understand it's a marketplace, thus there's no such thing as a pricing table. But I need to get some idea about ballpark numbers before investing any time trying it out. Is there something you could link me to which helps form an understanding of typical costs for running stuff on Akash?

Hackathon crypto Project adopted by the DoD (Department of Defense)
This was possible thanks to the high level of programmable privacy offered by Secret and the unstoppable cloud infrastructure provided by Akash.

Most people believe that crypto has no utility - how to change their mind?
Like β¦ renting server host for any Docker Image?? Such as Minecraft Servers, websites, or anything you can make yourself?

Apart from payments and privacy, can you provide some legitimate crypto use-cases? Namely, smart contract platforms, AKA "web 3.0" - What genuine use-cases do these layer 1 chains provide or will provide in the future?
Iβve used Akash, where you can deploy any Docker Image to be run. This means that itβs possible to run your own containers such as custom backends, but also that you can find public examples such as Minecraft Servers and miners. See more examples here.

On Akash, you can rent servers from a P2P marketplace to host, for example, a Minecraft Server, your own dockerized project (e.g. a NodeJS project) or one of dozens free-to-use useful examples. Look into other utility tokens too for storage, VPN, networking, smart contracts, and more.

The silence here shows that many are in it for the fiat
Your testing is wrong, as you missed out on Sia/Skynet which makes file storage cheap, reliable, and easy. In fact almost all rented computer resources also exist in crypto. Akash for cloud compute / hosting any Docker Image, Sentinel for VPN, plus a dozen similar projects with their own ideas. This makes you able to, for example, rent Minecraft Servers or your own d-app on a decentralized market, rent storage that is sustainable for all parties at $2/TB/mo, or VPN with more and less biased nodes than .

Not your keys, not your crypto? I don't care!
Everything will be finance related, but not everything is trading related. For example, renting Minecraft servers on Akash may be something you can relate to without having to see your crypto as this speculative investment.

Are we limited to Solidity for smart contracts / dapps?
Akash can work with almost any custom Docker image, which means that you can make your own Web2-native projects run on decentralized infrastructure. Here's a NodeJS tutorial / example, here's a Minecraft Server example, and here are some public finished deployment files anyone can use. This makes for very flexible dApps, but due to how the network works, applications are only online for as long as the developer / user wants it to, it's not permanent like many smart contracts are.

Converting docker-compose files
If you want to give it a shot, join the Discord and I can try to assist. Otherwise, you can try to see if the SoftEther VPN on Akash is a viable alternative :)
-
Is there any real-world usage of blockchain tech?
As developers, they should know better. Any developer can make use of Akash, a decentralized marketplace where you can rent deployments (VPS alternative) and pay-as-you-go. I've used it for things like Discord bots & website backends. For more, you can see a comprehensive list of public projects here.
