airmessage-server VS airmessage-android

This turned out to be a bug caused by the new WebSocket introduced in v4.1.1. It has been fixed in v4.1.2, which you can install through AirMessage's built-in updater, or directly from this link: https://github.com/airmessage/airmessage-server/releases/download/v4.1.2/AirMessage-4.1.2.zip

Until I get this fixed, you can also download AirMessage Server releases directly from GitHub: https://github.com/airmessage/airmessage-server/releases

For imessage you could take a look at this: https://github.com/airmessage/airmessage-android. It's a foss imessage client for android that also has a web interface. I dont use it so i dont know how well it works but it looks promising.

Download the latest AirMessage.apk installation file from the AirMessage GitHub (under Assets) onto your computer; move it to the MADB /apps folder at C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot\apps (in Windows).

Yes, AirMessage is actively updated. You can see the update history for the Android app here and the sever here.

However, I understand that some users want more control over their data. As such, I'm preparing to bring the same end-to-end encryption that AirMessage uses for direct connections to AirMessage Cloud. I hope to be launching this feature shortly, though for the time being, you may inspect its implementation on the connect-encrypt branch of the server, Android app, and web app, or compile and run it yourself!
