XstReader
XstReader is an open source viewer for Microsoft Outlook’s .ost and .pst files (also those protected by unknown password). You can view and inspect all content and export messages and attachments (also in .msg format). Written entirely in C#, with no dependency on any Microsoft Office components. This project is the evolution of Dijji's XstReader (by iluvadev)

Need to convert 5 gb Ost to pst for free
xstreader/export is the only free one that I know but it doesn't export to pst

Are there any free tools that can convert Outlook .ost files to .pst files?
Only works for OST files from pre Outlook 2013. I had a quick look though Github and found this: https://github.com/Dijji/XstReader, which can read the .ost file and export the individual items to .html, .rtf and .txt which could help someone if they're desperate.

You could try "Dijji/XstReader: Xst Reader is an open source viewer for Microsoft Outlook’s .ost and .pst files: https://github.com/Dijji/XstReader" you may be able to see if it can see inside the file, there is also an export tool so you may be able to recover emails from it if necessary.
