For me, Voxel Doom isn't just a visual upgrade to Doom 1993 and straight up allowed me to enjoy the game for the first time.
Have you tried Blade of Agony? It's a Doom mod (I guess technically it's a GZDoom mod) that is an unofficial sequel/reimagining of Wolfenstein 3D and it. Is. Glorious!

Everyone should check out Blade of Agony, too. It's a free fan made standalone mod using the old Doom engine that's sort of a sequel to the original Wolfenstein 3D game.

Pyro should do a video on Blade of Agony the Wolfenstien sequel we never got. it is by far the best free doom total conversion mod and its massive and varied.

what was your favourite flash game as a kid ?
Original 1989 dos version has been ported by fans and can be played here. I haven't seen any other version or game playable online without an emulator.
