- Possible to find Metadata ID from Metadata.Bundle Folder?
-
Movie library directory file count is 284, Plex app is 279
You can use WebTools-NG's FindMedia tool to find what's missing between what Plex lists and what's on your filesystem.
-
Can I copy the metadata from one show to another?
In that case then I don't think there will be an easy way to transfer the metadata unfortunately (outside of some user-created script). One option that would at least help with the manual re-entry would be to use Tautulli's export feature or WebTools-NG's ExportTools to create a spreadsheet that has all the information in one place, and should be easier to copy/paste.

What happens if PLEX goes out of business?
The good thing is, you'll still have all of your media sorted and organized on whatever hardware was hosting Plex, so you'll just need to install new software to host it. Make sure you're using something like Web Tools or Soundiiz to keep records of any playlists or collections and you'll be fine.

Transitioning library to 4K and REMUX files - possible to identify which files are which?
take a look at the Webtools-NG project you can extract different "info-levels" from your library as CSV and then import them into Excel or other Spreadsheet Applications and then create a table out of that and filter it based on what row you want and extracted. That way you could specifically search for that resolution and at least know which one it is.

Lost 2 hard drives, any way to search which files were on there?
Look at the Find Media tool in WebTools-NG ("latest" on right hand side to download).

FlixPatrol has gone premium, any alternative for PlexMetaManager?
Digging into it more and more I discovered the FlixPatrol option to get the tops from the mainstream providers, and I know for sure this would be much appreciated among my users, as well as myself to be honest. I got very hyped by it, only to discover that due to a recent change of policy from FlixPatrol, support for it is being dropped.

Yo Ho, Yo Ho, a pirates life for me!! Recent streaming services, prices and shows getting butchered, finally decided its time. Here's how a basic self-hosted 'Netflix' would look like. Fully automated once its setup. Using only a makeshift homelab server from second hand parts.

Metadata question - what happens when you modify file locations or upgrade movie to a higher quality version?
You then want to make a single movie library that uses the /Movies path. That way when movies are "upgraded" you don't have to have that new library download new metadata. Plex natively doesn't have auto collection creation but you can use something like Plex Meta Manager. I'd try to figure it out using their wiki but if you can't or need help they seem to have a discord. Just quickly looking you can make collections by resolution so I assume there is some way to base it on audio type.

Best programs to use alongside Plex?
Plex Meta Manager (GitHub) for some automated library organization. This one has been a long process. It's a steep learning curve when you're first starting out, but my suggestion is to pick ONE feature and start there. That is, "I want a collection of the IMDb Top 250 Movies" and learn how to implement that, then move on to another feature you want to add. Currently, I have overlays for streaming services, audio quality, and video quality, plus collections for IMDb, award winners, filmmakers, actors, and production companies.

Easier/external playlist creation?
The default playlist config (referred to as PMM: playlist) has the following viewing order playlists pre-configured.
