Nicknaming Addon
I have also created example ElvUI and Plater setups that will work out of the box, and WeakAuras support is on the way! If you want your favorite addon author to support nicknaming, please refer them to the API Documentation. Also, feel free to leave any thoughts in comments below!

Any sources or guides for weakauras? [wa] [ui]
As far as documentation goes, there is the wiki: https://github.com/WeakAuras/WeakAuras2/wiki
-
[WA] Weak Aura with dynamic glow border color.
You have to edit the region, as explained here. Sadly there isn't an example for doing exactly what you need.
-
Addon developers, please start using the new AddonCompartment Frame
Here's how WeakAuras recently added support: https://github.com/WeakAuras/WeakAuras2/pull/4386

My WeakAuras stopped working with today update.
Don't update your addons today in EU/ASIA, if you installed WeakAuras 5.5 revert to previous version 5.4.4. If you are unsure how to revert to previous version you can either download them directly via https://github.com/WeakAuras/WeakAuras2/releases/download/5.4.4/WeakAuras-5.4.4.zip or https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/weakauras-2/download/4464593 or go into your AddonUpdater of choice and select the 5.4.4 version (be sure to install Release version and not an Alpha)

[HELP] WeakAura: how can I get contents from /dump in custom Lua code?
Read the last comment here.

[HELP] Need help to code a weakaura with clickable arrows for paging
Here is an article about taint and why it is important. Here is the stance on Protected Frames in WeakAuras. I would have coded this to use protected frames, but they are not allowed in auras (the interface throws an error if you try). So, in the aura I coded, the frame is disabled during combat to avoid possible taint. So if you get attacked while on Page2 while farming you might want a keybind to reset it back to Page1 so you can attack.

Lua: The Little Language That Could
it should be possible, the article mentions https://fengari.io/ (a Lua VM written in JavaScript)

OmG jAVaScRiPt InSeCuRe. LuA bETtEr.
Check out Fengari or Lapis. Fun fact: itch.io is written primarily in Lua, and started by the same person who made Lapis and MoonScript.

Lua is the fourth-fastest growing language on GitHub
I was real excited to see these recently... have you tried any? https://fengari.io/ is the one I was most intrigued by.

How to embed lua in a JS webapp?
Hello, there is also fengari: https://fengari.io/
-
PyScript
Other languages have done that :)
Lua in the browser: https://fengari.io/
And then you can use that to run Fennel, a Lisp that compiles to Lua https://fennel-lang.org/
I think TypeScript also has a script you can include that lets you put your TS code in a special script tag, and it gets compiled in-browser.

Intro to PyScript: Run Python in your web browser
just use lua, it’s what should have been used for web scripting anyways

Upcoming interview with Roberto Ierusalimschy
Please stop this stuck in the mud nonsense. Anyone stumbling upon lua.org might think the project is dead already. The material is great, close to the best, but its presentation is pure shite. Not mobile friendly (what kinds of device do you think the majority of people in the Global South use?). We live in a world of code highlighting, none of that in PiL. We live in a world where Fengari allows Lua to run in the browser, does that make an appearance on lua.org, allowing users to immediately play with the language? Of course not! It's almost as if the Lua team is trying to push away potential users.

A First Look at PyScript: Python in the Web Browser – Real Python
why not use lua

I really like to think of PyScript as the “Minecraft of software development”
Just use lua https://fengari.io/

What can I create with Lua?
Definitely the most surprising use-case for Lua that I've seen is http://lua.space/webdev/why-we-rewrote-lua-in-js which discusses https://fengari.io/.
