The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

Anyone here ever done a mod on the original HTC VIVE to replace the displays or lenses?
OK so theoretically If I bought a HP Reverb G2 I can just put the lighthouse tracking part of the VIVE onto the front (with velcro or something) and then plug that in via the USB? I've found this page so I assume thats what they mean. I'm not going to buy anything yet because I am still hoping the Arpara 5K comes which has built in SteamVR tracking. After taking one of these headsets apart the actual nuts and bolts parts aside from the PCB itself seem very trivial. I wonder if DIY kits that had a PCB with Display Port 2.0 in would be something people would consider. Its surprising more good headsets don't come out.

Help needed: Reverb G2 with Vive Tracker (and Index controllers) stopped working
So basically I've bolted a Vive Tracker to the Reverb G2 and have used SteamVR's TrackingOverrides config to override HMD position with the tracker positioning. So basically using this setup: https://github.com/Yersi88/WMR-and-Vive-Tracker

Anyone using Index Knuckles with their WMR headset?
There is a way to do this. Details are in the github here: https://github.com/Yersi88/WMR-and-Vive-Tracker

REVERB G2 UPGRADE HELP
You can also attach a tracker to the headset itself, but that caused jitter for me. Seems to work for some people. Details and software are here

Having difficulties setting up Index controllers and tundra trackers!
regardless I downloaded OVR and space calibrator and followed the guide, a video, as well as checked the FAQ's and I am still unable to get this working.

Reverb G2 + Knuckles Controllers new setup?
My guide is constantly updated. Sometimes takes me a bit to update things (for example right now forcing the steamvr chaperone works a bit different and I’m currently working out the best way to have it work well again) but it will likely always bit more up to date than any videos… Which most of them out there skip some important steps and add others that are unnecessary.

FBT Help
You don’t need Bluetooth. The base stations don’t connect to the PC. Read the instructions: everything is there!
-
Bluetooth Unavailable
Ignore Bluetooth unavailable. That’s just looking for the Bluetooth in a vive or index. You don’t use Bluetooth with this setup at all, unless you install lighthouse keeper or something and that’s just for turning the lighthouses on and off. Follow the instructions which are the same whether you’re using knuckles controllers or just trackers :)
-
Controller locations reset every time I launch up VR
Generally, when persons are struggling with issues such as yours, I'll suggest they follow Pumpkin's guide to the letter - don't skip a single step and be sure to use SteamVR chaperone instead of WMR.
-
please help.
Refer to step 4 here. And a simple youtube video.

pico 4 vr desktop with vive controllers
It can be found here (it’s also in the sticky guide in this sun though there are a few outdated things in there now. I really need to make a new one)

I want to upgrade from my Oculus CV1, but can't exactly break the bank.
Here is a set up guide: https://github.com/PumkinSpice/MixedVR/wiki/MixedVR-CV1-Touch Note that the guide says you need to keep the CV1 headset moving to make it stay awake, but there is now a software tool that can keep it awake without movement: https://github.com/DeltaNeverUsed/ODTKRA

HP Reverb G2 with possibly either the Oculus S or Q2 controllers?
Cheapest thing to do is find a full CV1 kit! At least two cameras, 3-4 is better. https://github.com/PumkinSpice/MixedVR/wiki/MixedVR-CV1-Touch — this is a guide I wrote on it though it’s a little outdated (You can use an outside program to not have to keep the cv1 HMD moving as I understand it)

Can a pair of controllers be used with a non matching headset in steam vr, I really like the tracking quality of the rift controllers but I was looking to upgrade to a new headset
If you are talking about the Rift CV1 then yes it is possible, here is a guide: https://github.com/PumkinSpice/MixedVR/wiki/MixedVR-CV1-Touch Note that the guide says you need something to keep the CV1 headset moving to keep it awake, but there is now a software tool that can keep it awake without novement:
