Easy to use video (.mp4) to ASCII character
Hello, I created a simple program using bash which allows for the easier conversion of videos into an ASCII character style. I am not asking for any free handouts but just simply wanted to make it more well known. The reason I created this in bash instead of literally any other program is that I find it to be the most fun program to code in. I am specialized in Python and a bit of java before but there are so many fun ways to work out how to solve a problem in bash and that is what made it so fun. Please give it a gander and enjoy it, it should be free of most program-breaking bugs but don't forget that it is bash and there's only so much I can do. I left it as a .bat so that the code may be viewable or you may use the .exe which is more user-friendly but both are identical to each other. The program can be found on my GitHub located here: https://github.com/CapedCrusader42/Video-To-ASCII-Converter/tree/main

Created a batch file that converts videos to ASCII characters
As the title states, I created a simple interface that allows the user the ease of access to convert their .mp4 files to ASCII characters. The reason for this program is because I wanted to help my friend who isn't well versed in command-line interactions. The program appears completely functional, but I am in need of help to track down any potential bugs that could affect its performance. You can find it here ( CapedCrusader42/Video-To-ASCII-Converter: This is a cmd file that allows for the easy conversion of the .mp4 video format to ASCII characters. (github.com) ) on my GitHub, go to releases and use the newest version number to get the most up-to-date version. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Full brutal cross examination of Amber Heard by Johnny Depp's lawyer Camille Vasquez
MPV is minimal interface for maximal play-ability. VLC is just good for what it was intended for; streaming video. Not to say VLC is all bad since it actually does feature a UI that makes it usable for boomers in a court scenario. Like I remember VLC always having weird visual glitches from time to time. MPV doesn't have a regular installation like you would expect with any normal program. You'd need to put it into /program files and use the https://github.com/rossy/mpv-install/blob/master/README.md .bat script to automatically set all your defaults.

mpv-install.bat isn't working.
rossy's original "mpv-install.bat" needs to be executed the way you describe, i.e. located besides the "mpv.exe" binary, but shinchiro's "mpv-install.bat" copy needs to be run in accordance to directory structure as found in the .7z and as shown above.

MPV Icon not showing
i assume you are on windows? there is a file called install.bat on the folder your mpv.exe file is, run that with the administrator privilege and it should set it up correctly, if your mpv archive file didn't have this you can also check this repo that might work for you

I don't get how to download at all
What I'm really wondering here is if I fucked up the tutorial, downloaded the wrong files from some wrong website or whatever went wrong and what I should do next. I also saw a zip-file on the github to download mpv. I also may have downloaded that one.
- In windows 11 Start Recommended section, when video files appear, they do not open with mpv, but another video player. Even when default video player is mpv.
