It makes this all happen by modifying the existing executable by injecting hooks that load the Loader, which then manages the mods. It can modify the executable directly (useful for running Gnomoria via Steam with workshop mods) or it can generate a separate executable, that can be run alongside of the original. It used to be a DIY kind of project, but alas now we have an Installer, that will be doing the heavy-lifting for you.
