If HPET is not an option in firmware, then it is disabled (0x00) and hidden from you. Which in practice is bad. The only option for users in this case is to download your firmware from the vendor, use this tool to locate the register and set the value with this tool to enabled (0x01).

What it boils down to: * You need to passthrough the iGPU using a rom file which you can extract from a bios image of your motherboard * You can use UEFITool to do it: * Other methods are described in the unraid forum thread * You need to use SeaBIOS (seems to have something to do with VGA arbitration support) * You need to set iGPU 'x-vga' parameter to on * * Depending on qemu version, might have to use 'qemu:override' instead * You need to make sure that your host operating system doesn't attempt to use/initialize the iGPU. The usual early vfio binding, efifb=off stuff applies. * 5700G has the AMD reset bug, which means the iGPU won't function after rebooting the guest. Some workarounds exist, but didn't find a clean one. * * Worked on Windows 10, didn't on Windows 11. Has a slight delay after boot until monitor output starts working. * Other instructions mention changing BIOS settings: enabling CSM, setting primary gpu to internal. Didn't seem to matter in my case.

If you are like me and don't have the option, you need to modify the option through EFI shell. Download UEFI Tool, IFR extractor, RU.efi, and UEFI Shell, and your bios.bin/biosfd . On HP laptops, you can obtain it through the third option "Copy" . You can find the platform ID in the bios.

First we need to find where it stord. We need 2 tools: UEFITool, IRFExtractor. Find the download link in there github. Now open the UEFITool, File-Open Image File and locate your bios file(GZ301ZX.312 or sth, extract it from the file downloaded from the official ASUS support page). Next, Ctrl+f and find "IMON" in the text field.

With the above BIOS dump in hand, it is now time to use UEFITool to search for the settings we care about, specifically the Overclocking. Download, extract, and open the Windows app, and use the tool to open the BIOS dump we generated above (Fileā€¦Open Image File)
