There's a discussion here about this being done successfully on a ThinkPad T460 with a SPI programmer and UEFITool. The same method should apply to the T460p.

If HPET is not an option in firmware, then it is disabled (0x00) and hidden from you. Which in practice is bad. The only option for users in this case is to download your firmware from the vendor, use this tool to locate the register and set the value with this tool to enabled (0x01).

How to view proprietary blobs on your system

I have been a long ThinkPad user and have bought an XPS 13 for the first time. I changed my boot logo on my machines before using this tool following this guide.

While I was trying to troubleshoot the issue and reading about them on the internet I found this VBIOS for intel GPUs (https://github.com/patmagauran/i915ovmfPkg) which I proceed to use because I wasn't able to dump mine (thanks DELL for removing legacy boot).

Using the patmagauran/i915ovmfPkg VBIOS just crashes my entire system.

I came across this project and thought it was a solution to the problem. When I set the provided rom file romfile=i915ovmf.rom in the Proxmox configuration my machine hangs for a minute or two and then the host crashes completely and shuts down.

For the graphics to display output at VM start, you should research about i915ovmf.

I believe there could be some kind of "driver" like (i915ovmf)[https://github.com/patmagauran/i915ovmfPkg] but made for SeaBIOS instead of OVMF. So I would want to ask if someone knows more than me on this matter.

You need a custom vbios for Windows. MacOS will not work at all as far as I know .https://github.com/patmagauran/i915ovmfPkg

I've come across i915ovmfPkg and OSX_GVT-D but just wanted some insights if anyone has come across this issue and found a solution before I head down this path. If anyone has any ideas to help out would be greatly appreciated!
