TrickSaber VS BeatSaber_UpdateSkipper

I've just installed Tricksaber for the first time, and the mod does appear to actually be in the game as the config menu appears, allows me to change its settings etc. But when I get into a song, pressing the specified buttons does nothing at all. I've made sure to turn those buttons on in the config menu, and adjusted their sensitivity so that it should definitely be activating (throw at 0.70 when trigger is pressed, spin at 0.25 when joystick is moved) but nothing seems to be working. Is it just incompatible with the current version? Or is it simply broken?

Latest release is 7 months ago (https://github.com/ToniMacaroni/TrickSaber/releases), doesn't look like it has been updated.

so trick saber hasnt been updated but there is a file called AssemblyInfo.cs and it says its an update for the newest version of beat saber but how does this work exactly?

If you are a Steam version user you can try Update skipper. Steam will think that you use the latest available version while you don't. So no need to wait for a new version of mods

Use update skipper and stay on older versions. If you already updated you can use legacy launcher to install older versions. You can also manually install old mods into your mod folder, but this wont always work.

Its not much of a problem anymore. you turn off auto updates and then if you catch it before it updates you do this https://github.com/kinsi55/BeatSaber_UpdateSkipper. If you don't you have to uninstall and then grab and old version like this https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1805934840. backup playlists/songs, put right back. reinstall mods, which it remembers which ones you used. it takes like all of 5 or 10 minutes now to get back on an old version and have all mods working.

In the future, use https://github.com/kinsi55/BeatSaber_UpdateSkipper to prevent updating until mods are updated.

At least for Steam it's not really that much work anymore. When you see an update close Steam, run this, then start Steam back up and you're good to go.

You can also, once you are on the version you want and don't want to have to reinstall everytime there is a new update, use this: https://github.com/kinsi55/BeatSaber_UpdateSkipper which will straight up skip the update if there is one and don't worry this is a trusted program its made by a really known modder, you can check his other repos if you don't believe me.
