Show HN: Transform any Wikipedia article into a graphical timeline
> Love to see a timeline of world history
> You ought to be able to zoom in
IMO history is so complicated, and timelines do not do justice to the nuances.
Being more familiar to us (as contemporary), what about timelines of recent news ? (Wikipedia current events, or HN?). it helps to vizualize the bigger picture for those who don't follow very close (which is more healthy these days)
Beyond Zooming, Filtering would also help declutter the UI.
FYI There are already nice open-source timelines widgets like https://github.com/NUKnightLab/TimelineJS3 and http://www.simile-widgets.org/timeline/

Looking for freeware to create histoy+literature timelines (i.e. with overlapping events)
The Timeline Project is a good one. Then there is TimelineJS3 but it is probably harder to set up since it is web based and there is no instruction as I can see. But it looks pretty powerful with a demo website you can visit. (probably somehow possible to run it on local server for yourself). (Both are opensource btw)

C++ Faker library
I am currently working with Typescript as well as C++ and I enjoyed using FakerJS library for testing data. I've checked for C++ libraries and I haven't found anything that could be used for my basic needs (like generating emails, passwords, names, uuids or lorem words) so I just started my own project with idea to deliver such library to C++ developers.
