Is there a time frame for the 1.16+ port of Aether 1 to Forge?

Etho's Modded Minecraft S2 #2: Create Japanese Home
Server from a hoster that you set up yourself or self-hosted (PC running 24/7): Way better IMO, because you get better performance at a lower price. I found a tool (link) that can create a modded server from a modpack zip file. You'll need to do a bunch of tinkering around though, but it should be somewhat straightforward.
