  • What is the most customizable yet easy to configure stacking (floating) window manager?
    1 project | /r/archlinux | 18 Jan 2022
IceWM. Single handedly the most solid floating WM. It's actively maintained unlike Open box, and has dead simple configuration files. The default themes are ugly, but super easy to make new themes. If you like Arc, try this theme https://github.com/Brottweiler/Arc-Dark
  • Which WM to use?
    1 project | /r/archlinux | 26 Mar 2021
I super recommend IceWM I always do, but it's almost never mentioned over Openbox and the like. IceWM is a floating WM (i dont like tiling) that is actively maintained, unliked Openbox which is abandoned. The configs are really easy to manage compared to Openbox XML format... It's also very easy to make themes. The default and extra themes are in general pretty ugly, but you can download some good ones. I use Arc Dark from github (my fork).
