This app needs to be sideloaded. It cannot be obtained from the app store. You can see info on https://spike-app.com, but don’t attempt to install using the instructions there as it isn’t being maintained. Join the Facebook group, it has the recent manuals. If you’re interested anyway. It’s useless without FSL1 or a Nightscout server. One word of advice: when you join the FB group, do what the rules say and read the install instructions. As it is maintained by just the one person, it’s a very tight ship to ensure the group runs so efficiently that he’s able to continue doing it on his own in his spare time. Has no patience at all for laziness, but tons of patience when you at least try but fail for whatever reason.
  • Help getting a Dexcom G6 Transmitter.
    1 project | /r/diabetes | 23 Dec 2021
If your Dexcom G6 transmitter is recent, it is not easily replaceable. Only the 81xxxx and 80xxxx series (I suspect the 8Uxxxx as well, which is oddly a G6 Firefly Medicare version - but I don't legal access to this version so I only have my suspicion) were easily replaceable with use of a dremel. However, you may be able to extend the transmitter's life through the Spike-App (iOS) or the xDrip+ (Android) application.

I've heard of xdrip Swift and Spike. But i have no personal experience with either, so can't say if they're equivalent. There is Sugarmate, which i think will call a phone number, if a ringing phone would wake you. Not exactly what your asking, but a literally LOL setup was what u/rhett342 created, so a Billy Big Mouth Bass would speak his BG readings.

The libre link app is trash, much better ones are Xdrip+ for Android (https://github.com/NightscoutFoundation/xDrip) and the Spike app for ios: (https://spike-app.com/)

If you can get hold of them the Freestyle Libre 3s do alerts and if you're more technically inclined you can get the Freestyle Libre 2s doing alerts with something like https://github.com/JohanDegraeve/xdripswift (iPhone). There's more options I believe on Android but I'm not familiar with them personally.

My son does something similar. In Vietnam, only the Freestyle Libre 1 is available, so we got the aftermarket MiaoMiao transmitter for it. The transmitter talks to an iPhone running xDripForiOS (https://github.com/JohanDegraeve/xdripswift) which, in turn, pushes the CGM data to nightscout (https://nightscout.github.io). We can then follow that data on nightscout using xdrip on our own phones.

It's been a real life changer. Before I'd have to stay up at night to check his blood a couple of times, but now I no longer need to. We've been able to flatten his curve and keep him in a sane range by adapting his basal rate based on the data. I can see when he is dropping low at school and inform them to correct the situation.

I'm not sure why the author isn't using nightscout data for his complication though. Great article, none the less.

I use an iPhone and https://github.com/JohanDegraeve/xdripswift is the best I’ve found. It also had the awesome feature that it can connect to the libre 2 just using bluetooth so you don’t need to scan anymore, they just get delivered to your phone every 5 mins. If you’re on android I believe there are several good options but I’m not familiar with them myself.
