SmartThings_MyQ VS tasmota-connect

On the MyQ integration, it is the comment at the top of the README for this Github MyQ Groovy integration.

I found a Smartthings SmartApp and Device Handler here. It was easy to implement in the Smartthings IDE. Study your desired setup carefully. Mine includes a tilt sensor so that Smartthings can monitor and let me know if the garage door is open for more than 20 minutes.

It is just a workaround that allows Chamberlain and Liftmaster openers to work in SmartThings. MyQ Lite is the specific app, he has many others including ones for remote manage of short term rental locks. I did not even know that it was broken. I use SmartThings with RBoy's smart app (Virtual Garage Door Manager) and brbeaird's device handler (SmartThings MyQ Lite.

If you're using the SmartThings_MyQ plugin, then you need the tilt sensor to integrate with routines. The tilt sensor allows the plug-in to know your garage door state, and can then present the door as a switch. Otherwise I believe it presents your door controls as a pair of momentary buttons (one for open, one for close), and expects you to use the right one based on door state.

I personally prefer the old tasmota-connect edge driver cuz it's open source and has been working fine for me: https://github.com/hongtat/tasmota-connect There's also a newer driver by the same author on the community that's closed source and is limited 5 devices unless your pay to upgrade.
