The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.

Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.

You can actually write your own script for that. Lately I wrote something in bash in this repo . It's in bash. Might be interesting if you want to write something similar.

I wrote my own software (backup) to backup my home directory using rsync, except a list of excludes which I configure with a YAML file: backup/main.yml.
