Map P2 to P1 controls for specific game
Since your version is from before the switch from Stretch to Buster with RetroPie 4.6 in 2020, unfortunately you'll not be able to upgrade in-place. You will need to backup and reinstall.

How to install FBN on retropie
What version do you run that doesn't have a FinalBurn option? FBN or its predecessor FBA have been included pre-installed by default for a very long time.

Spelunky Classic HD, Maldita Castilla & AM2R all working on Retropie (Help needed)
I haven't had any experience with retropie on other devices besides my pi 3b. It was relatively easy to set up with CRTpi. The fact that all of the pi models have some way of getting composite output (rca port on old models, 3.5mm with adapter on newer ones) makes it a lot easier.

RGB-pi OS booting to a command terminal, it's like this with retropie crt edition. did i just spend 30 on something that may not work? any solutions are greatly appreciated
Looks like it is working fine but I assume you want it to boot into emulation station? I don't have any experience with rgbpi but I know the following night help: You should look into crt-pi by stuckonretro. It works amazing with the latest version of retropie. More info here. No need for a separate os or branch, just some configuration and some command work. Let me know if you need any help!

RGB-Pi 14L5 Sync Issues?
So I was also wondering how this would work because inpuilt the plus model but never used or tested it. So I have mine currently hooked up using rca connectors wired off the board . I wanted to hook it up to test through my gbs controal box. And so I played around and could not get a sync and the gbs was reporting that it was getting a 49hz clock. I'm going to try and play around using a different os later on today. Crtpi I have spoken with the person who makes the fork and it's truly an amazing build even when just using the vga board or even rca. I have linked to it and there should even be a package to install to use the controal worth a shot. crtpi
