- How to use TegraRCM on Android?
-
Is there something wrong with my jig? Not entering rcm
When using with your phone, you often need a USB OTG adapter. If you're using Android, I'm assuming you're using Rekado. Here's an excerpt from their GitHub page about this:

From India, Do you guys know anyone who sells a Nintendo Switch RCM Loader and RCM Jig?
RCM Loader is not worth of your money, I suggest you to buy an adapter for your phone, installing Rekado and connect your phone with adapter with your Switch. You need something like this, Adattatore USB-C a USB-A 3.0 OTG, USB Femmina a USB-C Maschio Compatibile con MacBook Pro, Samsung Galaxy, Telefoni di Tipo-C, Tablet e Altro (Nero e Bianco) https://amzn.eu/d/eKTem8B). Be sure that it can transfer files and you save 25-30 bucks. For the jig, I bought on Amazon, idk if you can buy it from here. I heard of some people that "handcrafted" their jig with hairpins, idk if works, you should try

Can I delete the tinfoil self installer after install?
Yes, theres an app https://github.com/MenosGrante/Rekado/releases
- Need a PC every time it loads up?

Is RCMloader necessary or just a convinience to boot into RCM
Some advice for after you've booted into custom firmware and got it all set up: consider using AutoRCM. It corrupts a single byte in the Switch's bootloader which causes it to boot automatically into RCM after every power cycle, eliminating the need for an RCM jig entirely after the first use. All you need to do then is inject your chosen payload using Rekado (if on Android), or iOUSB (if on iOS).

Are there any alternatives for connecting my Switch to my PC?
If you have android phone you can use that use the app called rekado that's what I use https://github.com/MenosGrante/Rekado/releases
- Tegrarcm stops responding when injecting payload
-
Can I switch from RCM Loader (dongle) to The PC payload injector ?
After looking into how Atmosphere boots by looking for a reboot_payload.bin which you can have as ANY payload file (mine is Hekate) I've not needed to inject it by hand in a long time. And if I do ever need to I do it with my phone even using Rekado

1 Extract the .zip-file. Download the file, find it (most likely in your Downloads-directory), right click on it, see if it says "Extract anywhere, or WinZip, WinRAR or 7zip somewhere, if you see either, just hold the mouse over it, and a new menu should pop up. Then you can just select Extract to new Folder, or Extract to /*/ or whatever, and it'll make a new folder with the name and content of the zip-file. If you can't find any way to "extract" the file, you can also just doubleclick it, and it'll open as a folder. Just copy the contents somewhere else, to another folder or on your desktop. Just mark the files and drag and drop them somewhere. Somewhere you can find it. Doesn't matter where, you can delete it afterwards. I know it sounds weird to move it out of a folder and into an other, but just trust me on this one. It's the same as extracting it, just with extra steps. But easier to follow in chase you're not familiar with compressed files. Whatever. Let continue.3.Connect the Switch with a USB cable to your computer, Doesn't matter if it's on or off, but if you've connected the dongle-thingy, you should probably turn it off just to make sure that the dongle doesn't interfere somehow. If it's on, it's already in RCM mode, and if it's off it'll automatically turn on when you connect the USB cable and automatically go into RCM mode since it's in "direct boot" mode.4. Start TegraRCM GUI on your computer, there should be a RED light/indicator saying NO RCM or something, don't worry about it. Press "Settings", then "Install Drivers" (you only have to do this once), then go back to the main menu. You might have to restart the program, can't remember, but I don't think so. Anyway, now the light should be GREEN. There should also be a list with a few names there. Find the one called Hekate. Mark it, and press "inject".5. Look at your Switch. It'll start this launcher program called Hekate on your Switch. There should be a big button on the left side that says something like "Load Custom firmware/name of whatever custom os is installed".Just press that and it'll start as before. It only takes like 10 seconds once you know what to do. I know it looks like a lot of work, but it really isn't. It's easy. Just start by doing it easy, step by step. You can save the TegraRCM GUI folder you made for later, in chase this happens again. You can also use an app called Rekado if you have an Android phone. Connect a USB between your phone and Switch, start the app, and press Hekate, done. To install Rekado, you'll have to Download this .apk-file (install file for Android).https://github.com/MenosGrante/Rekado/releases/download/4.2/4.2.Rekado.80.-release.apk2. Go to your Android File-Browser, there should be one installed with the Android OS. If you can't find any, just download one from the Google Play App Store Thingy. Open whatever file-browser you're using, and find the .apk-file in your Download-folder.3. Press it, it'll probably ask about some permissions to install from unknown sources. Just give it permission, you can disable this afterwards. It'll install the app, and you can use it to boot Hekate.4. (maybe): If it won't let you install the .apk file, go into Android Settings, Security, and look around. You should find "Allow Install from Unknown Sources" or something similar somewhere.5. Profit? Also, there could be newer versions of the different programs by the time you're reading this, so here's the links to the main githubs.https://github.com/eliboa/TegraRcmGUI https://github.com/MenosGrante/RekadoAlso, thanks to the developers of these magnificent programs and apps.
