Why are drivers so complicated?
RHEL 8 is a 4.18 kernel, this driver might work as it is tested with 4.15. Realtek drivers are known to be annoying, unfortunately they are in a ton of USB dongles because they are so cheap.

Installing Dongle Netgear A6150 drivers on Parrot OS 5.1

You bought an adapter with no linux support. A short google search shows that thing uses a Realtek RTL8812BU chip. It looks like there is a 3rd party driver made for linux at https://github.com/fastoe/RTL8812BU but it requires you to clone and compile it.

HP x360 only charging to 80%
Later, wife noted wifi was not as good in particular part of house so installed a RTL8812BU wifi adapter using driver from https://github.com/fastoe/RTL8812BU.

brostrend wifi adapter
Is it https://www.brostrend.com/products/ac3? I ask because I bought https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/284231856690 and followed instructions here, https://github.com/fastoe/RTL8812BU - instructions are different depending on kernel. Yours and mine use the same chipset.

BTF file not generated because vmlinux could not be found
The sophisticated driver from https://github.com/fastoe/RTL8812BU expects the mentioned kernel image vmlinux in the standard location

Couldn't install RTL8812BU driver & gave up
I downloaded this driver: https://github.com/fastoe/RTL8812BU/tree/v5.8.7 and hoped to easily install it offline, but it didn't work. Terminal tries to download metadata, but obviously it's not possible without internet. Compiling it gave also an error, if I remember correctly it said that it couldn't find anything in temp build folder? DKMS can't be installed either. I also tried to download it on my phone and move it then to Fedora (like I did with the WiFi driver), but it wasn't possible to install it because of too many dependencies that I have no access to...

From Windows 10 to Zorin OS 16: Noob Steps I Took to Feel More Comfy
sudo apt update sudo apt install -y dkms git bc git clone -b v5.6.1 https://github.com/fastoe/RTL8812BU.git cd RTL8812BU VER=$(sed -n 's/\PACKAGE_VERSION="\(.*\)"/\1/p' dkms.conf) sudo rsync -rvhP ./ /usr/src/rtl88x2bu-${VER} sudo dkms add -m rtl88x2bu -v ${VER} sudo dkms build -m rtl88x2bu -v ${VER} sudo dkms install -m rtl88x2bu -v ${VER} sudo modprobe 88x2bu sudo reboot
Had no WIFI option at all. Downloaded this driver (RTL8812BU v5.6.1, for 5.10 kernel) on my phone and connected it then to my PC, so I can install it: https://github.com/fastoe/RTL8812BU/tree/v5.6.1

- For my online meetings I need a way to redirect my system audio to mic input, so the other attendants hear both my voice and my system audio (i.e. a youtube video). At the same time I want to hear in my headphones ONLY my system audio and NOT my voice.

Question About Power Options in Ubuntu 21.04 and new versions.
Anyway, now I don't have that power options although I can use [slimbook-battery](https://github.com/slimbook/slimbookbattery). I guess the app works but still if I can do the procedure without a third party app it would be better.

Having a really hard time switching to Linux...
I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this already, but try using Slimbook Battery, which is a GUI software to manage battery life. For me personally, this increased battery life from three hours to almost six hours on my Lenovo Yoga 6.
