Show HN: I built a virtual tabletop for playing Dungeons and Dragons
There is a converter from Roll20 to FoundryVTT. I've used it with great success:

Thinking of switching from roll20 to Foundry
Honestly, the only 2 times I would recommend you stay with Roll20 is if A) You are really insecure when it comes to computers as you will be hosting the server yourself (again, really simple with foundry, but it can scare some folks) or B) You are heavily invested in your 5E system and do not wish to import your campaign (though there is a tool to make the move from roll20 to Foundry much less painful)

From Roll20 to FoundryVTT, how much work does it require to setup a campaign(I have never used either, just doing research for our DM)[D&D5e]
I was a roll20 pro subscriber for 2 years and recently switched to foundry. It's light years ahead of roll20 in every category. Edit: there is a tool available to export your roll20 data and import it into foundry. Relatively easy to use but you have to sub this guys Patreon to get it. I did the low tear for 5 bucks and then canceled it so essentially it cost 5 dollars https://github.com/kakaroto/R20Converter

VTT Maps for specific Module
You can use this tool to export campaigns from Roll20 to Foundry VTT. Downloading the tool requires that you join Kakaroto's Patreon, but you can cancel the subscription as soon as you download the tool. Also, in my experience, Kakaroto is very responsive to people who experience issues with using his tools.

I want to run Rime of the Frostmaiden with Foundry, but I feel really overwhelmed. [D&D5e]
I cant believe no one has said this yet - but there’s literally a thing called R20Converter that takes an entire game in roll20 and dumps it into foundry, with everything setup as it was in roll20. https://github.com/kakaroto/R20Converter

Importing module into Foundry - Roll20 vs DnDBeyond
I am planning on running a Curse of Strahd campaign soon, and I have just purchased FoundryVTT - moving over from roll20. From what I can see, FoundryVTT does not have a marketplace where I can buy the prebuild module, but thare are ways to either import it from Roll20 or DnDBeyond.

AMA: KaKaRoTo, Creator of the Forge, Beyond20, creator and co-contributor of 11 different Foundry modules. Ask Me Anything!
First of all: Thanks a lot for the R20Exporter, you saved me so much work I would never would have liked to do. Two related questions: how and why did you come up with doing this project, and how long did it approximately take?

Preparing premade adventures on Foundry
In my opinion, if you're running one of the official campaigns it would be absolutely worth it to buy it on Roll20, export using this tool and import to Foundry using the tool from this patreon.

Buying worlds?
You may have been replying to someone else... but in case you weren't familiar with it, the Roll20 importer is here: GitHub - kakaroto/R20Exporter and here: GitHub - kakaroto/R20Converter. Works like a charm.

Just moved and its awesome!
Oh and for the scenario: We moved to Foundry from Roll20, so I searched for an exporter tool and could import the campaign that way.

3 questions about Foundry
This chrome extension will let you export Roll20 material. I haven't used it in a year so I can't say for sure if it's still working!
-
Red Flag
So the first tool, Roll20 Exporter, is an add-on to chrome (or chromium, not sure about Edge and other chromium based things). You just add it in and go to your Roll20 game, and then it adds a button. Click the button, and it took me ~10min to make the zip file and then another few minutes to download it. You now have a .zip of your Roll20 game! it only gets the contents of your game though, so it doesn't get your full compendium (like say Volo's or Mordy's). This one is free! But it has a heft disclaimer saying it may still be against Roll20's policies even if everything in the game is your own content and/or SRD stuff. It does some black magic with JaveScript on your webbrowser and creates a load of .jsons and .png files detailing almost everything in your Roll20 game. The second tool, Roll20Converter requires a (temporary) subscription to KaKaRoTo's patreon, linked before. Once downloaded, it has a super simple GUI that takes in the zip file you just made and can then turn that into a Foundry 'world' (which basically just means a game, as far as I can tell). I have absolutely no idea how this works. KaKaRoTo's Black Magic!!
