Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

What do you use for new projects? RxSwift or Combine
Do you use PromiseKit?

Timing problems (async, getting data from Firestore DB)
I use PromiseKit to handle async codes. It's really easy to use for basic uses like this
-
DispatchGroup in Swift
The most typical way to solve this problem is by using Combine's Future or PromiseKit's Promise, or by using RxSwift's flatMap. If you're interested on how this works under the hood, I plan to write another article for this case, but for now you can check my code for a simple Promise in this gist, or check this quite old but incredibly mind blowing talk from Javi Soto.

How do you escape completion hell?
Besides that, you can use a promise library, like PromiseKit.

How do you escape completion hell?
As a last solution that I am currently working with, you can use SwiftCoroutine, which is a runtime implementation of async/await and some other coroutine primitives. Though that one may break debugger support and also lead to unexpected behavior.
What are some alternatives?
RxSwift - Reactive Programming in Swift
Threadly - Type-safe thread-local storage in Swift
OpenCombine - Open source implementation of Apple's Combine framework for processing values over time.
solver7-csp - CSP like thread management with Swift. I became interested in Swift when I saw that it is becoming compatible with TensorFlow. I reworked an old Java project of mine from 1998 in order to learn how to do some things in Swift.
BrightFutures - Write great asynchronous code in Swift using futures and promises
Lottie - An iOS library to natively render After Effects vector animations
Bolts - Bolts is a collection of low-level libraries designed to make developing mobile apps easier.
DZNEmptyDataSet - A drop-in UITableView/UICollectionView superclass category for showing empty datasets whenever the view has no content to display
FutureKit - A Swift based Future/Promises Library for IOS and OS X.
Kommander - A lightweight, pure-Swift library for manage the task execution in different threads. Through the definition a simple but powerful concept, Kommand.
Hydra - ⚡️ Lightweight full-featured Promises, Async & Await Library in Swift
Eureka - Elegant iOS form builder in Swift
