Similar to the project from /u/cybercastor, Visual Studio is a good starting point. You can start writing the xaml without it. I took it a step further by invoking commands in runspaces for an asynchronous UI. It also attempts to follow the MVVM pattern with viewmodels and commands. See my wip project
