Suddenly having issues getting anything to render...
I have been using this openscad project for about 2 years now to generate dice sets with custom fonts and what not. It's been working great until very suddenly now openscad seems to be running out of memory and crashing. I used to be able to render the entire set of 7-8 dice at once without issue, but now sometimes it runs out when rendering just the D20 by itself. I tried redownloading the file and starting from a clean version just in case it was an issue of too many presets. No change. I am on v2021.01 which is the latest supported version for this project. I tried upgrading to v2023 and it actually rendered great with fast rendering enabled but unfortunately some needed features of this project aren't supported and I don't personally know much about openscad code to fix that. I tried a fresh install of 2021.01 as well as going back to 2019.05, nothing seems to be working.

Looking for a caster or company for custom D20
This is the program I used to generate my dice. https://github.com/charmaur/PolyDiceGenerator In this you can select your font and any vector image to replace a number with. In this case your 20 for your logo.

I want to put numbers around the 10 facets of this cylinder (like the number 1 that is there). Is there a way to do this neatly that I'm missing (without using trial and error for each letter)

Help to make a custom D20 dice
Look at that https://github.com/charmaur/PolyDiceGenerator It should work in the openSCAD workbench.

I want to change code but it's proven to complicated for me, anyone versed in Openscad?
I came across this amazing work. It's a dice generator and it allows to define fonts for text and symbols. I'd like to change it and allow for many fonts to be used on one dice. So in stead of interating on the dice and use the same font, for each side of the die there should be a different font.
- So happy with how these came out! Can't wait to make more.

How would you controller 100+ stepper motors (each with their own home sensor) on a single Raspberry Pi?
You might want to check out Scottbez's open source split flap display project (https://github.com/scottbez1/splitflap). I've also been interested in replicating/streamlining this someday since I don't like the idea of manually applying vinyl lettering to all the PVC cards.

For what it's worth, I've been keeping an I on https://github.com/scottbez1/splitflap for some displays. At some point they have a easy version.

Scott Bezek has a great video on "How a Split Flap Display Works" [0].
He also sells blank "flaps" on Tindie [1].
The documentation on how to build the Split Flap is also really awesome [2], including how to cut your own flaps [3].
I've been following this project for a while. It's pretty awesome. I estimate about $10 per character (as opposed to the $180/character (!!) another poster mentioned through Alibaba), with a large portion of the cost being the custom cut "flaps" (in small quantities). It seems like the cost could get in the $2-$4 range per character but I couldn't figure out how to do it without a significant amount of labor involved in cutting the flaps.
FYI, there's also a company called Oat Foundry that sells large split-flap displays [4]. I seem to remember the cost being in the $10k+ region but I don't see a price and I could be way off base.
Oh, interesting, I see Vestaboard also has a (smaller) one for around $3k [5].
