Pi-hole + Wireguard + Oracle Cloud Always Free Tier
There might be many of guides and tutorials available for installing pi-hole in Oracle Always Free cloud. I have been using the installation script from here used for Google Cloud for 2 years with few modifications. Today I like to share it with this community. This is a straight script which sets up the wireguard & pi-hole and doesn't require terraform or docker.

Set up Pihole on Google Compute Platform and works when connected to VPN. Can I set it up with a router somehow?
I followed this tutorial and set up PiHole on GCP. It works, both with split tunnelling and full tunnelling. However, I need to have the VPN app on all the time for it to work. So I wanted to set it up behind my router and I found Option B on this website, which I couldn't make sense of it (I am mostly a novice). Is there a way to set it up with a TP-Link Archer A6?

How to setup Wireguard VPN as a noob?
Other way is that you can have a vps, setup wireguard server there (with pivpn) then connect your pc and phone to that server, I use this tutorial but might be confusing

Best route for a Pi-Hole instance in the cloud?
I'm running an instance of pi-hole from a Google Cloud Instance. I followed these instructions Pi Hole Google VPS | Wireguard VPN, even they explain how to do it for free and give the reasons why is a good idea. You can start there. Even I was able to set the local router with OpenWRT and connect it to that instance using the wireguard vpn to only process the traffic from the DNS request of all devices at home. Let me know what you think.

Question Regarding Cloudblock
It looks like you choose a DNS over HTTPS provider, and it defaults to OpenDNS.

Working abroad without comapny knowing
I’d recommend Oracle, as they have a free tier that should cover your use case. If your interested check out Step-by-step cloud deployment - Wireguard VPN

Is there a dead simple way to setup a remote PiHole that my phone can access all the time? Preferably free or very cheap?
if you want to run it in the cloud, for free, and not rely on anything at home, use cloudblock and run it on oracle cloud infra, they have a forever free tier that i have been using for years.

What do you use your oracle free tier for?
https://github.com/chadgeary/cloudblock/ or https://github.com/chadgeary/cloudoffice/ are both fun projects

VPN on church wifi
In case you're feeling ambitious, you can take a look at this project which is designed to make it easy to deploy your own ad-blocking VPN on a cloud server. Watch one of the step-by-step videos linked to on that page (like this one for Oracle Cloud) to see if it's something you'd feel comfortable setting up.
What are some alternatives?
