Need an app that sniffs HTTP/HTTPS requests that are made by apps
https://github.com/emanuele-f/PCAPdroid is very good, shows content too (for http)
-
Scraping data from an app: real world example
There's also PCAPdroid [1] which you can run straight from your phone with no root. Works with https traffic too when you enable the mitm setting.

Downloading file using HTTP Request GET or PUT results in an empty file
Also whenever I mess around with http stuff I like to use tools like Fiddler Classic (PC) and PCAPdroid (Android) to know what I need to do vs. what I'm sending/requesting. With this you can perform the desired action manually while capturing all the packets of that action with headers. Then when you replicate the functionality, you capture the packets again and compare both to verify that your code behaves identically/similarly to what you manually did.

Found unknown app using data on my phone by using the glass wire app.
Try PCAPdroid. It'll show the app as well as the destination IP.

Questions about Android version updates and security update support for Xiaomi
I'm rather fond of PCAPdroid, just leave everything to default and start monitoring. Ideally you should only see ~100b be sent via netd and nothing else if you are not using your phone (and disabled background update checks in say NetGuard, Firefox, etc.). It takes up the VPN slot so be aware of that.
- PCAPdroid: no-root Android app to monitor, inspect and block the connections made by the other apps in the device. It can now inspect HTTP and decrypt TLS directly from the app

Issue on Lineage OS 20 - Redmi 8
LineageOS is volunteer produced and maintained, and outside of the device support charter requirements are necessarily expected to be free of bug or error in any given build.
-
it is possible to install lineageos on Xiaomi 12t Pro?
If it's not there (it's not) and you want it to be, feel free to submit a port once you've got one to meet the device requirements and decided you'd like to maintain it.

Android 12-based LineageOS 19 arrives for the OnePlus 8 series
LineageOS introduced a "Device Support Requirements" a few years ago. I think that's when they changed their focus to stability over anything else.
-
Holy Battery Life Batman
Unofficial LineageOS does not have to meet the strict LineageOS Device Support Requirements Charter
-
What does it entail to port/LineageOS to device that either has no LOS ROM or has an older version only?
Learn everything required to generate a build that satisfies the device requirements, then sign up to be a maintainer for that device and maintain the build
-
I'm preparing for the inevitable End of Life for the 7pro and wanted to ask the community what are some of the best roms that will keep this phone usable after OnePlus stops supporting it. Roms that offer a smooth transition from Oxygen OS are a definite plus, but it's not a deal breaker.
It's essentially stock Android - be ready to lose some OxygenOS features - but they're rock solid on the devices I use official builds (eg: OnePlus 8 Pro, same maintainer as the 7 Pro). And it's important to use official builds because they need to comply with this long list of requirements, reducing the number of things that don't work.
-
probably a stupid question.. but here it goes.
You'd have to either wait for a volunteer maintainer to get a device-specific build up to the requirements, or become that volunteer maintainer yourself.
