Sounds like OpenSMTPd https://www.opensmtpd.org/ in that its a rewrite of older confusing SMTP servers.

Best way to learn OpenBSD?
Any constructive suggestions about what beginners should refer to? Is there anything better than the FAQ? (And, any thoughts about a guide for smtpd? I know this is a rather different question, but I'd love to find something beyond just the manual pages at www.opensmtpd.org, )

Very outdated experimental stuff, maybe during the first iteration of filter API, there was a native filter to do just DKIM signing https://github.com/OpenSMTPD/OpenSMTPD-extras/blob/filter-dk...
These days one could leverage rspamd filter which does DKIM along with other useful stuff.
What are some alternatives?
