You can get onvif-compliant firmware for some of those, but battery-powered operation cannot be expected to remain practical, given what onvif focuses on.

Alternative open firmware for your IP camera
> Majestic code while is not open, provides unprecedented performance and capabilities for a wide range of hardware. The author of Majestic streamer is looking into possibilities to open-source the codebase after he secures enough funds to support further open development. You can help to make it happen sooner.

OpenIPC: Alternative open firmware for your IP camera
Crazy wide amount of chips supported. My main barrier would be that my current camera has nice hardware h.265 encoding. I haven't dug deep but whether I can keep that or not would be a potential deal breaker.

Any tips for BSP development?
The OpenIPC project has more recent code for these chips (though even that seems to be 4.9) https://openipc.org/

I have taken a look at the page for debugging steps for Homekit recording and haven’t played with any setting mentioned there.

Unfortunately the options for HKSV doorbells is fairly limited. The Logitech circle view Doorbell looks like the best candidate but it has a spotty review history, with the biggest complaint being it breaking in direct sunlight.
I’m about to buy some cameras and I’m thinking of just buying Nest and using https://scrypted.app to bridge to HKSV.

Delivery Vault camera
In the demo video linked to from the Scrypted Github repo, the author has some kind of a delivery box (visible in the top camera), with a camera inside the box in night vision mode, able to report on whether there’s anything in the box. Does anyone know how this setup was achieved, or have done something similar to combine a camera with a closed delivery box?

Do your cameras actually "work" on homebridge (on HomeKit)?
