A wrapper library over NewPipeExtractor
There's this thing called NewPipeExtractor, which scrapes a lot of details from YouTube like videos, comments, and channels. But using it is a bit of a hassle since it requires implementing some abstract class, and its documentation is hard to understand.

What can go wrong if I write a program that scrapes websites and put it on Github?
For example there is https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipeExtractor which allows downloading videos. there is https://github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts which activates Windows, I have tried and it works.

is there any open source app for vimeo like newpipe?
As for native support, it seems the issue for it exists but is pretty quiet so you may want to subscribe to it or lobby for some progress: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipeExtractor/issues/690
-
Any NewPipe alternative that will let you filter search results by "posted today" or "in the last hour" etc?
See https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe/pull/8837 and https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipeExtractor/pull/904 for pull requests with this feature. The extractor PR is also needed for LibreTube (as LibreTube depends on Piped which depends on our extractor).

Is there a way around this ?
For an example the youtube/streaming front-end android client NewPipe and its associated "backend" NewPipeExtractor has a lot of machinary to emulate what javascript does in your browser when you ask it to play a video/stream from various websites (most notably youtube). It does take a lot of effort, which is why it often goes into periods of quiet development as the previous maintainers burn-out and new ones take over. But it isnt impossible, but modern websites do not let go of thier content easily. Also note that even this is only read-only, there isnt a mechanism to allow you to post.

Crash on upload screen (Desktop app)
Maybe open issue to github repo. I think there was similar, but it seem to have been fixed https://github.com/lbryio/lbry-desktop/issues/7732

What is next?
I've also been worried about the lack of activity on GitHub. It looks like development on lbry-desktop halted back in Nov.
- The beginning of the end? Specific files are being “disabled” from the ocean we love to sail. Are they just experiencing server issues? Seems unlikely. Only time will tell. “Disabled” means a manual action. This is not good. Hoping to see mass re-uploads for the creators files who got disabled.

Working with the Progress Bar in the Desktop Client
Not sure, but I think that you want to have your code in this file.(And in matching file for list view if you want to support both) https://github.com/lbryio/lbry-desktop/blob/master/ui/component/claimPreviewTile/view.jsx

LBRY Desktop client does not include Rewards/ Invites anymore.
I don't know, but guessing that blocking content will be left solely to hub servers. Currently app is also using some other filtering lists. https://github.com/lbryio/lbry-desktop/issues/7681

Why is my Optimize and Transcode Video box unticked and greyed out even though I have Automatic Transcoding with FFmpeg correctly configured? The same setting is selected on my old PC even though FFmpeg is not even configured so I'm confused.
Seems to be broken on latest version, opened issue here https://github.com/lbryio/lbry-desktop/issues/7685
