You can do that, yes. Or you could implement it another way, without adding an actual customer foreign key to your firm, but with a "customer" property which does a get or create. This guy has done it on the user model, but it works perfectly on any other model too: https://github.com/jayfk/launchr/blob/master/app/users/models.py
