Weapon and armour options, and possible mods.
And all of this also requires the Modnix. And mods are only available on PCs. They work on EGS, GoG or Steam variants of the game. Nobody knows about the gamepass/Windows Store variants.

Mods or vanilla? If Mods, Which One?
And then when you play with DLCs, I have this one I recommend, all the other nice mods have been included into this one. They require the Modnix to install.

Cannot Fire More than 1 Missile per Turn with Fury-2 Missile Launcher
The easiest way to set up the game with mods is to download the Modnix, I reccomend the Beta 3, as it has more build-in options, and it is stable. Unarchive the Modnix to a folder like "tools" or what ever, then run the Modnix.exe, setup it by pointing the game folder, which will then make a Mods folder quick icon to show up in the game's own folder, then download tthe mods, extract those to the folder referenced previously and then run the Modnix again, enable the mods, and from then on the mods will be always active, unless the game gets an update, in which case you just need to do the setup again.

New player here
And get this MOD: https://www.nexusmods.com/phoenixpoint/mods/53 . Its a must. It has features that the game developers should have added long time ago. The default settings are good enough, however u can modify it to kinda cheat your way through. You will need this to run the mod- https://www.nexusmods.com/phoenixpoint/mods/43

How does fumble work with jet jump?
Q: How to apply mods ? A: Download the Modnix, extract, and install, this will setup your "mods" folder. Then download mods, extract to the "mods" folder, and run the Modnix, the mods you want. In this case it's at least the PPDefModifier 1.7 ... that alone won't do anything. But it allows custom mods, such as this(the next 7 days). Extract that to the "PPDefModifier" folder. Enable the PPDefModifier in Modnix, and from that point on your troopers won't have a fumble chance on JumpJet usage. Unless your game is updated, and then you just need to apply the Modnix again and then mods. And the PPDefModifier will allow custom .json files to be added to the folder and they will apply to the game even without needing to interact with Modnix.

What about joining the pure and forsaken?

Cant seem to get mod to work that others are saying works, no idea why and am fucking confused about where to put stuff
For it to work, one usually installs the primary mod, via Modnix, and then you customize the .json file... for it to do anything.

Anyone know if the Select Class Traits mod will be ported to the Steam Workshop?
Well, you should go and look up the Assorted Adjustment mod, as it contains the vehicle space/slot mod as well as a LOT of other mods, one that allowows you to set how many additional abilities you want the recruits to have(3-7). Say like setting it to 7 allows you to make the Select Class Trates tree that has full 7 abilities you can then individually assign, as the mods are compatible with each others(& all modnix mods). The PPDefModifier mods are completely compatible with other and modnix mods as well, ... and as the files are .json -files, you can have as many of them as you like as long as they change different things(different GUID numbers).

Now, you need another PPDef mod to edit their stats, which I have made available here. The stats in it are some what better than the vanilla stats, but not overly OP, and I am willing to adjust them when and if the feedback so demands, but you are also able to adjust the values yourself if you just open the .json file with Notepad and generally can consive the consepts, as it is very human readable.
