ManjarotoArch
- I wrote a Manjaro to Arch Linux converter with Bash
-
Steam crashes shortly after launching it.
Are you using Native libs? If so, I'd heavily advise against that on Manjaro. Manjaro holds packages back for the weirdest of reasons, so libraries often get upgraded away from one another. If you have your system setup as you'd like, then you could try a convert to Arch using this script. Then, you could update with normal Pacman to see if it's fixed.

Why manjaro-zsh-config is preinstalled?
It's because the zsh default theme looks absolutely horrible(I've explained it on my repo).
-
Dual boot windows and arch linux
https://github.com/sugkiy/ManjarotoArch/ I actually tried this script to convert Manjaro to Arch. I was feeling adventurous at the time but it worked fast and with no problems.

Converting Distros
Would this work?
- SDDM login screen appears for 1 second, then cuts to black screen

High power consumption for cpu
I'm using arch with 5.10 lts kernel, the hardware is kinda beefy for a laptop (core i5 10th gen, rtx 2060 and 16 gigs of ram, buts still the battery is rated for 3 or so hours under light load). as far as i know there arent any extreme changes to the system. this kinda appeared on its own, but all of the sudden my battery, though not very good, lasts only an hour instead of its 3 or so while doing some easy stuff. the only thing i can think of is a script that converts manjaro to arch, but i had this problem not so extreme before that anyway, also i did play around with undervolting, but that gave me some errors so i abbandoned it. i tried checking powertop and powerstat both saying my power usage is 30-40 watts (on idle mind you) with cpu usage being at 2-5% most of the time. the very weird thing is that even setting my cpu to work on a single core, underclocking it down to 1 ghz and disabling composition, bluetooth and all the unnecessary stuff, the power gets consumed at the same rate leaving me at 1 hour at most of battery life, but right after boot with the super downgraded cpu i can for a minute see that it works and have battery life expected to 20 hours. i tried so much stuff, one thing still being on the table, that is undervolting, but i need to fix some errors on that. i also checked if that is only my install problem, but the battery life sucked even on a live usb, and it isnt a hardware problem as win 10 doesnt have such problem. other than that i tried tlp, i tried cpupower, i tried literally disabling my dgpu and still no success. any help would be extremely appreciated, thanks in advance

Terminal commands I use as a frontend developer
Thatβs the minimum terminal setup. You can modify the look and add plugins such as autocompletion to your terminal by installing ohmyzsh and using themes such as powerlevel10k. I am already using them.

Oh My Zsh
I used ohmyzsh with powerlevel10k/powerlevel10k[0] for years though recently i've settled on fish [1]

Weird Color Stuff In The Terminal
I had just gone through a fun tutorial for setting up oh-my-zsh with a nice color scheme from iterm2colorschemes.com and a decent prompt and I was wondering: can I make my oblique strategy look nice? how can you actually use the colors from your scheme in the output in your cli?

Quickest path to a decent zsh setup?
A more robust way to do this would be to add simple wrappers that clone any external Zsh plugins you use regularly and store them in your own $ZSH_CUSTOM. For example, you say you like Powerlevel10k, so make that an OMZ plugin:

where can I get the below linux terminal theme?
Looks like PowerLevel10 theme for Zsh shell

fish-shell: the user-friendly command-line shell
Am i the only one who feels fish is not worth it despite of hype? Don't get me wrong. I think that fish is really good shell.
BUT...
After adding the following plugins to zsh(before you chime in, it's just adding these lines, not anything configuring much. also it auto bootstraps on new install), I found out that fish is no where near configured zsh.
1) https://github.com/zdharma-continuum/zinit (plugin manager)
2) https://github.com/zdharma-continuum/fast-syntax-highlightin...
3) https://github.com/zdharma-continuum/history-search-multi-wo...
4) https://github.com/zsh-users/zsh-autosuggestions
5) https://github.com/zsh-users/zsh-completions
6) https://github.com/Aloxaf/fzf-tab
7) any good shell prompt generator like https://github.com/romkatv/powerlevel10k
For example, I use fzf integration for tab completion. Fish's fzf integration is nowhere as good as that of zsh's. Also, posix compat and almost bash compat of zsh is plus.
I acknowledge that zsh isn't perfect shell either and I have tried and failed few times in past to switch to fish. If you provide me compelling reason/s to switch to fish, I am all ears.

How to use neovim as a server?
To build upon that concept, you can even have your shell prompt display a symbol if you have a backgrounded job. I use https://github.com/romkatv/powerlevel10k and the background_jobs handles it for me.

Which terminal do you use? I don't like Warp
I also use PowerLevel10k. Themes up your zsh to make it look nice, pretty customisable.
