This part in the Dortania guide is confusing to me, can someone explain what I’m supposed to do in layman’s terms? (Kaby Lake laptop)
If you have access to macOS than you can download and open this tool https://github.com/acidanthera/MaciASL/releases. Right after you open this tool will show you your DSDT and than you can search for whatever the guide tells you to search for.

HP 250 G8 macOS Monterey 12.3 restarts at shutdown
Then I assumed that I need an editor that can open .aml/.dsl files and use it to find some text in the DSDT.aml, which then I have to paste into the FixShutdown-USB-SSDT.dsl. For this purpose I used MaciASL (which is also not mentioned in the instructions).

Lenovo T530. BigSur 11.6.4/OC 0.7.8
Can't emphasize enough for anyone new - take the time and get a basic understanding of how ACPI tables work. Tools used - OpenCore 0.7.8, ProperTree, ssdtprgen, iASL (MaciASL), SSDTTime, and Hackintool for exploring the Hardware and IOReg. i'm averaging 2:45 on battery; for reference - it's roughly 4 in Windows, and less than 2 in Kubuntu 22.04
- Success! Acer Aspire 5 A514-52G running macOS 12.2 "Monterey".

A little stuck. Got my hackintosh running 98% perfectly, but the battery indicator is wonky.
Note that do NOT use iasl or maciASL by Rehab (they are old and not updated) instead use the ones by acidanthera, iasl-stable, maciASL

Unsupported GPU feels hot (RTX 2080) I'm trying to disable it?
Also make sure to use MaciASL by Acidanthera (link)

Used GitHub: OpenCore Auxiliary Tools (OCAT) to create initial config, while cross checking each setting with Dortania's OpenCore Install Guide

- Noobie question about clover / open core config tools

Do U Know the Way to Monterey? YES, I Found My Way.
But these OCS messages shouldn't have been there to begin with. I wanted to make them go away. How? Thankfully, I found ic005k's QtOpenCoreConfig, a pre-built app that inspects the config.plist and identifies errors in various Quirks & other config settings.
