Yeah this mod is pretty hard to fully understand without a proper tutorial, which is why this page helped me a lot.

why is it the hardest thing to build in KSP is...
maybe because this is not what the game is about? try to use tweak scale to get larger parts so you'll need fewer of them. also you can use MKS mod to build in orbit https://github.com/UmbraSpaceIndustries/MKS/wiki you design the thing in vab then send materials needed and get it built in space
