Lenovo-ThinkPad-X1C7-OC-Hackintosh VS OpenCore-Install-Guide

Search for GitHub pages with laptops similar to yours. I found this page and it was very helpful for me.

For reference, I am using a Thinkpad X1 Carbon Generation 7. My CPU is i7-10510u and it is ambiguous whether my GPU is UHD 630 or 620. I used some of the kexts and ACPIs from this source but I made the config.plist myself. I also used the Dortania guide throughout this process. My EFI folder is here.

I have the same laptop running BigSur 11.2.3 github repo. I never got the mic to work. I either plugged in headphones (with a mic) or used a small USB mic. I'm planning to update OpenCore and MacOS next week. Let me know if you manage to get the mic working please.

Check dortania’s open core guide

To keep costs down, Keep an eye on local market place and classified sites for a cheapish gaming PC with an AMD card in it (RX’s 5700 / 5700xt / 5600xt / 6600xt / 6600). Look up the parts here on Reddit and https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/ to see if people have problems or methods needed to make them work.

Idk much about amd gpu support but u can check it on Dortania’s open core guide which I highly recommend you to follow

I have similar setup (i7 8700K, 5700XT, Asus Prime Z370-a), everything works, no issues (wifi with OCLP patches). All you need is here: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/

I exclusively used OpenCore Dortanias Guide. I also useed OC 0.9.5
