Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.

Also, I happened to have the same idea as you and I have made a library called IbUpdateLib for C++ and .NET. Maybe you can also wrap your code into a library, I believe it would be useful for many people.
