Lost in the GDQ event hype and other things: speedrun.com's owners, Elo, are attempting to re-license leaderboard data (previously under CC BY-NC) under our nose on their terms, removing attribution requirements and community ownership of leaderboards. (this is literally illegal, lol)
I started making an open source leaderboard site here https://github.com/andyperfect/Leaderboard a few weeks ago. It’s still very much in its infancy and far from useable, but the goal with it is to allow communities to pick it up and either share resources with other communities to host a multi game site, or communities to have their own site. I’m a mod for earthbound and I would like, ultimately, to move our leaderboards elsewhere.
