Does anyone stream outside their network? I’d like to stream from my desktop while I’m at working using their WiFi. I did try once and crashed the system and had to start from fresh. Would someone explain how if it’s possible?

I use Kodi with the Jellyfin for Kodi Addon and never have this problem on AndroidTV. I’m surprised you get this issue on a Mac, though. Is that when using a browser or when using Jellyfin Media Player?

Why is the CPU Usage Much Higher When Streaming to My Laptop Compared to Streaming to My TV?
I'd give Jellyfin Media Player a try, it supports pretty much all the formats and also supports Jellyscrub and IntroSkipper. It is what I personally use, if you have hardware transcoding is not as big of an issue, but if you don't it either eats up your CPU or is unplayable

On what device/client are you trying to watch it on? Try it on Jellyfin Media Player on your computer. Does it work then? It should direct play.

Weird colors banding on quick scenes
Just to be sure, if you play the movie in something like MPV or VLC on your computer, do those same scenes exhibit this color banding? How about in Jellyfin Media Player?

Is there a way to run jellyfin natively on the PC to watch movies without streaming? I love the look of jellyfin so is there a program like that out there for PC that does that?
