The number of mentions indicates the total number of mentions that we've tracked plus the number of user suggested alternatives.
Stars - the number of stars that a project has on GitHub. Growth - month over month growth in stars.
Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

When you got everything working but then realized it's a prototype case and there's no USB cutout yet.
Case was designed by my friend when I released my IIICC, been working on it since.

Hello everyone! I'm making a custom keyboard and need an advise.
I would use 2x I2C expander. This way you have 8x8 matrix on each expander and on top of that you can easily add more modules in the future. Just use more expanders. Here you have an example of 3 split keyboard based on I2C expanders.

Documentation on IO expanders?
For a working I2C expander based keyboards you can check my IIIC and Chordie. Sadly you can't get away from writing your own matrix scanning as there's no easy way to make reading I2C expander states in QMK. MCP23017 and MCP23018 have the same register addresses so there's no problem with moving the code between those two.

Custom matrix scanning help
You can check my code for IIICC. I am scanning 3 I2C expanders to combine the data into one scan result.

Some Help with the Preonic Rev 3 Encoder Implementation
Encoders change states following Gray code. There's a moment where A and B pins are all connected to C thus why you are having such issues. Check data sheet for the Output Table. To make it work you will have process those keys on your own and encode it the same way it's done with rotary encoders in QMK. It's easy actually. You can check my code here.

Any Existing Keyboards Built With Pro Micro and MCP23018?
My IIICC is one of them. For making it work you have to write your custom matrix scanning. Take a look at my src it's all there. Let me know if you have any questions.

Keyboard Builders' Digest / Issue 15
The IIICC is a three piece split by u/kbjunky (git, easyeda).

Alignment of square footprints to center of squares from a dxf file
As an alternative, you can use a kicad project generator like the one I made : https://github.com/jeroen94704/klepcbgen

PCB: place a large number of parts in a certain grid
If you want to create a mechanical keyboard PCB, there are several dedicated tools for that, including one I made: https://github.com/jeroen94704/klepcbgen

I have fully designed and build a working pcb and I just wanted to share cuz I thought it was cool
then use https://github.com/jeroen94704/klepcbgen this guide to put it into kicad. the guide is kinda flawed because to make the pcb it used parts that are no longer available but i figured out how to hook up all the switches to a pro micro so its a lot easier and you can actually get the parts.

I used a software to make a keyboard pcb but in order to print some places need a BOM file but I need to go to schematic to do that but when I want to switch I cant.
ok so you make a keyboard layout with this: http://www.keyboard-layout-editor.com/ and download the json file and then you follow the steps here https://github.com/jeroen94704/klepcbgen and copy paste the codes into command prompt and you get a pcb with you specific layout and all you need to do is connect the traces. but the problem is that there are components that are used and i but not listed so i can make a BOM file so the board can be printed. every time i try to open the schematic view it says there was an error and i don't know what i should do to fix it or even if i can.

1st try at a wooden case, will do better next time
I kinda cheated, theres a tool that takes KLE files and automatically generates a pcb design for them. You still have to connect everything, but it does all the tedious layout for you. Heres the github https://github.com/jeroen94704/klepcbgen

Keyboard Builders' Digest / Issue 15
A custom PCB by u/bigbrobewatching (pics). What's more interesting though, is the workflow: KLE, KLE PCB generator I wasn't aware of & the firmware builder by Ruiqi Mao.

Custom pcb fun????
Here’s the github https://github.com/jeroen94704/klepcbgen Basically you import a json from kle and then it spits out a mostly finished kicad file, so it pretty much takes all the tedious work out of it. You still have to route all the traces but it’s pretty great
What are some alternatives?
When comparing IIICC and klepcbgen you can also consider the following projects:
