Will this be on steam like OpenTTD one day?
OpenRCT2 has some community efforts moving in that direction. X7 is working on new coaster models, some of which could replace in-game models like the giga coaster. And there's projects to replace music assets with original recordings as well as add new compositions. But in general the project is a long way off of being independent from vanilla game assets, so I wouldn't plan on that being possible in the near future.
