What is lacking in Julia ecosystem?
I think you want to use something like GeoDesy.jl to convert to cartesian coords and then just index DimensionalData normally.

I am not clear what you have in mind here. Are QT or Gtk bindings not be sufficient? Or perhaps something like CImGui?
