I've been looking at [this project](https://github.com/DavidPagels/retro-pico-switch) to make the pi pico work as a USB plugged thing. He has code in there for wireless. The downside to using this project is it's more of a pass through for an already working gamecube controller. It looks like the guys at [Openstick](https://github.com/OpenStickCommunity/GP2040-BTH) hahttps://github.com/OpenStickCommunity/GP2040-CE) have code for the W. I'm probably going to start annoying these guys over discord on how to get my tilt controls to act the way i want them to.

I'm also looking at the possibilities of [this project](https://github.com/VinDuv/switch-arduino-controller) from VinDuv for Arduino. This one is interesting, as I would love to have it be USB, and I already have the pins set for the Arduino Mega right now. The tricky part is I know very little about ISP programming on the Arduino, which I guess you need to replace the firmware on the 16u2. Looks like I would need to shell out about $14 for a USB to UART adapter. Also, these directions are confusing af. Also, there isn't code for the fight stick part that involves how the various tilts and recovery angles are going to work.

All you need is an arduino and you can wire up any sort of input device you want pretty easily. There is libraries like Uno R3 (it's outdated now probably, or maybe not but its the one i know of), that make it a very simple process.

The arduino can send inputs to the switch over USB. https://github.com/VinDuv/switch-arduino-controller
