Linux Options for Asus C201 / ASUS C100
Some of the other options that /u/Gregordinary linked to are outdated and don't have ARM support anymore (Kali, Fedora, Ubuntu, but also Libreboot).

Has Anybody Successfully Gotten Linux Installed
With some additional help from u/TheBlode I was able to get booted into arch finally. The problem where it was hanging on boot seemed to be solved by following thee instructions under the arch section here: https://github.com/nikolas-n/GNU-Linux-on-Asus-C201-Chromebook
- If you reboot the Chromebit, you'll be stuck in the boot loop of "Failed to start Network Service". This can be fixed here -> https://github.com/nikolas-n/GNU-Linux-on-Asus-C201-Chromebook under the Arch Linux network part. NB: Make sure you don't edit your local system files by mistake.

Still ARM Chromebook, less minimal setup
It's CrawfishOS - a Debian Bullseye ARM with a kernel including support for built-in WiFi. Whichever else other Linux ARM I tried, refused to work with this chip. I tried a random usb dongle, bought on the web, but it remained undetected. They say I should buy one with Atheros chipset, but I couldn't find any at reasonable price.
