Any news for a FreeDVDBoot port for 3.00A?
I hate to break it for you, but FreeDVDBoot hasn't seen any updates since 2020 and it's safe to say that the project was abandoned :(

Can you burn a patched game image of a game into a DVD to boot it with Free McBoot?

Brand new
The FreeDVDBoot (FDVDB) hack is more hit or miss than FreeMCBoot (FMCB). It all depends on your version information. I used it to install FMCB onto a memory card.

I just bought this game shark device for my ps1, does it allow me to play imports? If it can, how do I do it and if no what other device can I buy to play imports on my ps1?
Personally, I use a memory card with FreePSXBoot installed, though you will of course need a way to get FreePSXBoot onto the memory card in the first place (I used a PS2 and FreeDVDBoot).

Guys I’m trying to make my ps2 work, I thought the modchip was wrong be it doesn’t show the matrix logo, but it actually runs backups discs and originals, but the CIRCLE+ TRIANGLE doesn’t work, what can I do? I want to use OPL ( the chip firmware is 1.35v)

Are these consoles compatible with mechapwn ?
As per the MechaPwn GitHub page, you can use it on:
-
Region Locked PS2 Games
MechaPwn can make your PS2 region-free via softmodding. More people should know about it. It doesn't work on the launch model PS2 though.
-
PS2 Region Unlocked Purchase
Mechapwn does exactly that but without needing a modchip.
- best and most cost-efficient option for playing PS1 and PS2 games on CRT?
-
Hardmodding advice
These days it's best not to use a mod chip as there are better methods available, one such method is mechapwn which patches disc protections in software, it has a few limitations that mod chips don't have such as requiring the discs to be Master patched (if not using Force unlock) or if you enable force unlock you won't be able to use CDs or PS1 games.
-
I’m confused.. the FAQ states this is impossible without hardware mods but there are plenty of youtube videos and tutorials showing how to do it…? what am I missing here??
You can but there's a missing step. Certain model PS2s can make use of something called MechaPwn. However, in order to run MechaPwn (which is homebrew), you would need a way to run homebrew -- which is what Free MC Boot or Free DVD Boot is for.
- Can I make my ps2 schph-70004 region free?

Is There any way to mod ps2 fat (scph-50004) with freedvdboot or something similar?
And also remember that on your model, you can also apply mechapwn if you want to run psx games. More info in https://github.com/MechaResearch/MechaPwn

PAL PS1 Games
If you're looking to play PAL games on an NTSC PS2 and don't mind soft modding your console, check mechapwn to see if your console is eligible: https://github.com/MechaResearch/MechaPwn
