I think my comment on the video got auto-moderated, but you mentioned the long time DOS spends calculating free space on the XT, if your drive is FAT16 formatted I wrote a utility and TSR to speed up that calculation from 15-30s down to 1-2s. Was bugging be a lot on my Turbo XT with a larger CF card in it https://github.com/ChartreuseK/FREESP
