Any time I try to rip a Wii game with Cleanrip, I get this error. My disc drive works fine.
First, try installing this version of the homebrew channel. It is a slightly more updated version that contains a few vWii fixes (although none that directly affect your use case). To install it I would recommend YAWMM. (If it complains that you don't have AHBPROT, then say yes to changing the IOS and switch to 249 and that should allow you to install stuff.) This homebrew channel won't overwrite the one you currently have installed, but it does have the same banner, so I would recommend moving the HBC you have now to a random spot on the home menu so that you can differentiate them. Now that you have it installed and located, run it as normal and see if CleanRip (or any other app complaining about AHBPROT) still has that error. If it does, try the next step, if not, then woo!

AltWFC/alternative setup for MKwii lan party
I don't think you need a real Wii nand to use this, you just need to set it up on an SD card raw image as well as install Open Homebrew Channel to Dolphin to launch it.

- [Wii U eShop Exclusive Giveaway] Pad of Time is giving codes to download the game for free. It uses the gamepad in a very cool way. Twitter: @markanime
- I used various software on wii u, like vwii decaffeinator to hack the wii menu but now it won't wonk and when I launch a wii game this is what happens

Is there a way to format just the Wii Menu?
Do you have homebrew? If yes then this tool is what you need

The second step requires the WiiU side of the console be modded, which I have no idea if yours is or not. If not, follow https://wiiu.hacks.guide/#/ to get it hacked (don't worry, it's quite simple.) If it is already hacked, download vWii Decaffeinator (either from the HBAppstore or here), and launch it from the HBL. Choose light mode, and let it do its thing. Now shutdown the console, take out the SD card, and turn it back on. You'll get an error saying the SD card wasn't found and eventually end up at the home menu. If it asks for an update, then choose update. If not, go to system settings, then system update from there. Once the update is done, now go try and see if AHBPROT is fixed.

I bricked my vwii using vwii backup manager out of my curiosity and did not backup the vwii
If you backed up your Wii U before, then you backed up your vWii. If you have slccmpt and otp, then you have vWii backups. But you also don't need them! Use vWii decaffeinator (Download via the link earlier on or via the Homebrew AppStore) to restore the vWii via software update. However, IT WILL NOT WORK IF YOU ARE BLOCKING UPDATES OR IF YOU DELETED THE UPDATE FOLDER!!! If Tiramisu boots up automatically every time you turn on your Wii U, then you have update blocking. You will need to disable auto-booting before using it, or it won't work! Note that you might need to rehomebrew your vWii when everything's said and done.

Wuphax Mii Channel recovery
Download and install vWii Decaffinator and place it in the same place all the other homebrew goes

SD card corrupted
And now for why I'm so casual about you basically losing half your Wii U's functionality-- You can easily get it back! Once you redownload homebrew (preferably via this guide), and have a NAND backup (this is important in case something goes wrong!) saved to a safe place (like a cloud storage service), download something called "vWii Decaffinator" from either the Homebrew Appstore on your Wii U, or just add it manually by downloading the latest version (as of writing) here and yeeting it into wiiu --> apps with all the other homebrew.
What are some alternatives?
