All in all, I'm quite happy with it. SmartSet is much more accessible than most of the custom stuff I have around (actually my favorite custom firmware thus far is the very underrated EasyAVR).

I buildt myself a macro-keyboard
I recommend looking at EasyAVR and its use with custom boards. This may be easier than working through the Arduino IDE once you get the initial legwork done. There are lots of alternatives too, such as:

Has anyone tried to mod this controller? Haven’t found any resources online 🥲
If you want to use it on PC though, you should look for guides about making a "USBemani" (only thing I can find about it in public is this GitHub repo)
