You could allocate ~1.5mB of psram (out of the 4mb total in the primary bank) and maintain your own rapid-access cache there, perhaps by using ESP32-PsRamFS? (assuming it doesn't suffer from the same "FS" slowness)

Hi, assuming you are using esp_littlefs, you can use esp_littlefs_info function to get the number of total and used bytes of the littlefs partition. demo_esp_littlefs.c
